It is estimated that up to 1 in 10 Australians have dyslexia. Local group Building Opportunities for those who Learn Differently, also known as BOLD, is hosting a series of events during a week designed to empower those living with dyslexia, including lighting up the Central Deborah Poppet Head and Girton Grammar’s Naunton Family Building in red for awareness.
The BOLD organization seeks to empower dyslexics in creative thinking.
Events hosted by BOLD will include a screening of a film which examines the impact of dyslexia and offers methods for teaching those with the disorder, and a Walk for Dyslexia on Sunday. BOLD organizers hope that the week will encourage those with dyslexia that they too have lots of potential, especially in creative thinking, which can lead to a life as a CEO or entrepreneur.
