Susan Barton, an expert in dyslexia, recently held a public seminar at the Community Church of Joy explaining what it’s like for someone with the disability. Barton explains that 20 percent of the population has some degree of dyslexia. Barton urged teachers and parents to try to find and foster the positive traits in children with dyslexia. She said people with dyslexia are usually skilled in other areas ranging from athletics and people skills, to music and mathematics.
