The MJCCA Book Festival on November 12, 2019, featured speakers from opposite ends of the spectrum. Henry Winkler, an actor from Manhattan who suffered from dyslexia, and Lin Oliver, a children's author from Burbank California. Henry, also known as "The Fonz" from the sitcom Happy Days, gave an inspirational speech to the audience about his own challenges in life and how he overcame them by making the most of what he did have and persevering. In his speech, he recounted his parents' disapproval of his acting dreams and the difficulties he faced trying to memorize scripts. Henry ended the speech with an equally touching Q&A session where he continued his message of hope for the audience. Overall, Henry's appearance describing his experience with dyslexia and chasing stardom made for a purely entertaining experience for all in attendance.
