NeuroDiversity, The Future Of Diversity?

Those who find themselves under the umbrella of "neurodivergent" such as those on the autism spectrum, those with ADHD, Tourette's, or any range of learning difficulties have found themselves historically with little support and resources regarding their conditions. Many grow up with feelings of inadequacy and hopelessness that ultimately lead them to believe that they are not capable of being successful. Resources may even be available for these conditions, however, one may not fall directly under the criteria to be diagnosed and receive said help and are often simply left to their own devices. Under-diagnosis often leaves female patients under-served in a male-oriented diagnostic landscape. By observing these conditions through the lens of 'neurodiversity', we are able to relieve the stigma of neuro divergence and are better capable of approaching it productively. The Do-It Profiler, a computer-based screening system, allows colleges and universities to identify needs that, when addressed, positively affect student retention and academic success.
