June Durrant is a woman who attended college where she studied Biology. It wasn’t until she was in her second year of studying teacher training at the University of Huddersfield that she was identified as someone with the condition known as dyslexic. She says that this was a turning point for her in her life but she has never looked back.
An educator with dyslexia shows that anything is possible.
She has worked in further education for many years and she even stated that she believes further education prepares people for work and its realities just like it can work to further the independence of the mind. It’s clear that she didn’t let her condition of dyslexia hold her back but instead she has stepped up to the top job at the Kirklees College. This proves that anything you put your mind to can be accomplished regardless of the obstacles you face.
