Leaders in Tennessee Schools have created a Dyslexia Advisory Committee to better serve students. The group will focus on screening tools for those pupils that show signs of dyslexia, as well as resources for teachers working with dyslexic students. The committee, comprised of advocates, educators, and parents, was formed as part of the Say Dyslexia bill.

“This group of education leaders and advocates will bring insight and expertise as we discuss concrete ways we can strengthen our screening processes and interventions for students with dyslexia, ultimately preparing more students to be ready for the next step in their academic journeys.”
~Candice McQueen

New legislation in Tennessee seeks to help those with learning difficulties as early as possible.

Members of the legislature stress that helping potentially dyslexic students allows every child to live up to his or her potential. The council will report findings and suggestions to the General Assembly after reviewing screenings and intervention methods state-wide.
