There will be vending machines in Florida dispensing books. The books will be in Spanish and English. This is being done in areas of Florida where kids don’t have easy access to books. This is a bad thing because in these areas if the kids do not have access to books then their ability to grow and learn in is jeopardy.
Children in South Florida will soon be able to get free books from vending machines. Thanks to a new reading program, four vending machines will be installed Tuesday throughout Broward County to distribute 100,000 children’s books.
This program is sponsored by Jet Blu and Random House Children’s Books. South Florida isn’t the only area where these machines can be found. Washington DC and Detroit are 2 other cities where these machines can be found. Having books available to kids in not just a good idea, it should be a requirement.
