In an effort to raise awareness of the difficulties children have with turning in quality work; this piece discusses the new curriculum additions in many schools. These schools break the routine of simply turning in work, having it graded, and never looking at it again by introducing peer review to the children. Now they have their work looked over by their classmates, and help them learn, through socializing, how to improve their work.

Too often, when students produce school work, they turn it into a teacher for a grade and move on.

Additionally, teachers are attempting to use the same type of peer revision with the students’ work, to make sure they understand the material and reaching their full potential. The educators try hard to not only help the students grow among one another, but also that they feel comfortable asking for and receiving feedback and assistance.
Too often, when students produce school work, they turn it into a teacher for a grade and move on. And after the teacher spends time evaluating the student’s work, many students never look at the feedback, a cycle that frustrates both parties and isn’t the most effective way to learn.
