A new nationwide ADHD study by Duke University is being conducted on technology similar to that used by video games. The STARS (Software Treatment for Actively Reducing Severity of ADHD) National ADHD Study is seeking to improve attention deficit hyperactivity disorder symptoms in children between the ages of eight and twelve years old.

Video games are available to help with ADHD.

Participants in the study receive a video game-like app on mini iPads. Researchers are trying to determine if symptoms that have long been associated with ADHD, such as difficulties with focus and impulsivity, might be reduced through the game play. They are expected to play the game five days a week during the 28 day study.
