Applebee’s Restaurant in Katy, Texas ousted a family from their establishment because of rowdy children. They brought their children to a late dinner. The manager brought the oldest one, a three year old, back to the table from walking all over the place. He also informed the parents that the children were too noisy and they had to leave. Upon leaving, the parents were met by the local deputy sheriff with a warning of “criminal trespass.” There are two conflicting reports as to who called the sheriff though. The Harris County Sheriff’s Department stated that Applebee’s reported that the couple was arguing and then, on the other hand, the father stated that he called to notify them that his family had been mistreated at the restaurant. Applebee’s has since issued a statement of apology realizing that the situation could have been handled in a more appropriate way other than getting law enforcement involved.
