Teachers in teacher’s lounges blame the parents for the child’s shortcomings because of failing grades or nonattendance in school. These teachers choose to bash parents but have to realize that parents are full time workers. The Professional Learning Community Institute says parents should not get the blame in regards to a child’s school performance. Mike Mattos, a former elementary school principal explained that parents have not gone through years of college or passed competency tests. He stated that parents cannot be blamed because children spend about 15,000 hours in school and do not choose to be where they are born.
